April Thus Far!

April has been a fun and wonderful month with our little man! We feel like he is hitting those milestones one right after another!  I cannot believe he has graced our family for 6 months now!
For my birthday my sweet friend Sarah helped get me out of the house so my guys could surprise me with new patio furniture and some delicious sushi! It was a great evening!

Little Man has conquered rolling over both directions and sitting up on his own. He is working very diligently on getting up on his knees and rocking & he is using those stomach muscle to try to go from laying on his back to sitting up! Crazy Kiddo!

I wish I could say my 6 month old was reading! :)

We are in our first week of vegetables! Homemade peas... Yummy! Good thing I don't have to eat them!

Thanks to the Chris & Amy, The Darners, The Youngs, and the DeYoungs! We love it!!!

We spent most of our last week helping Blake and Stancy pack and get ready to move!

Lincoln stayed in his pj's all day and played with kitchen toys. He also helped paint.. Blake and Stancy's couch :-/

Lincoln's little laugh is to die for!

AUSTIN!!!!
Snuggling with Hunnie!

We had our church picnic! Lincoln & Hadley had a blast :)

We celebrated our first Resurrection Day as a family! It was a great day to be reminded that our King has risen! Sin has lost it's power and Death has lost it's sting; from the grave He has risen VICTORIOUSLY! May we celebrate this year round! May this be the reason we live!

Of course, in my opinion, HE IS ADORABLE! We were able to have a wonderful time after church with the sweet Darners! Angel & Doug provided us with a wonderful lunch! Alyssa's cupcakes she made could have won on Cupcake Wars! And Joshua got Lincoln to give him a high five!
Joshua had off today, so we had lunch at the pool...
Relaxed....

Swam with the Presley family....
And of course took a LONG LONG nap! :)
As always we are beyond blessed! We are so grateful for all that the Lord provides for our family, but we must continually remind ourselves that this is not our home. One day we will be in the presence of our Creator. So may our lives be Christ centered! May we continually proclaim the Gospel, the Good News of salvation! May Christ be magnified in the York Family!

Family Devotions with Lincoln

"And these words that I command to you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way , and when you lie down, and when you rise..." Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Family devotions are very important to the York family. We truly believe that only as Lincoln sees Jesus in the Scripture and important to the daily life of our family, will he truly see Jesus as the Supreme Treasure. It is easy to say that the Bible is God's Word or that spending time in it is valuable, but until Lincoln sees this in action, they are empty words.

Here are two books that we've been reading with him. They are great books for helping children (or adults for that matter) to see the overall storyline of the Bible: God's eternal plan to rescue sinners through the death and resurrection of His own Son.

2. The Big Picture Storybook Bible

Love

This little man continues to capture my heart in a new way every single day! I never knew you could have a love like this! When our God said that children are a blessing he was not joking around!
We figured out how to keep him quite in his car seat... He just needed some shades!

What a blessing we have been given!

We are trying to train him early to enjoy camping so he is wearing his headlamp and yes that is a string of drull!

His 2 bottom teeth are almost in and he loves chewing on EVERYTHING!

Of course we were geared up for our first Ranger game!!!

Cutest Sooner I have ever seen!

We are rolling every which way now! I have a feeling we will be crawling sooner that I am ready for!

I left him in his chair and went to get a spoon out of the kitchen and came back to find him like this. Needless to say he always wears his seat belt now!
We had dinner with Uncle Blake and Aunt Stancy and Lincoln had his first lemon! Thanks Aunt Stancy! :)

I love this video more because of Joshua! :)

Such a cutie!

Joshua and I have been spending a lot of time praying over our sweet little man. Praying that God would draw Lincoln to Himself at a early age and that Lincoln would have a passion and love for the Gospel.  We pray that as parents we would be so intentional in teaching Lincoln the ways of the Lord!
May Christ be magnified in our marriage and family!

5 Wonderful Months!

I cannot believe how fast little man is growing! Almost every morning I wake up and am shocked because I am pretty sure he grew in his sleep over-night! I am so thankful that the LORD has been so gracious and allowed me to raise this kiddo. My prayer is that I will not take it for granted and be intentional with time He has given me with Lincoln! What a great job of being a stay at home mommy! It reminds me of how grateful I am for my mom and what a blessing she was being at home with Blake & I!

We went with our students to a Spring Retreat "Hearts on Fire" up near Huntsville! It was a blast! We were able to spend time with the kids and adults and build some great friendships! Our speaker was our dear friend Jason Lee from Fort Worth! He brought his sweet family and we were able to spend precious time with them also! The kids hearts were moved by the Gospel preached to them! One senior guy said in church Sunday, "Dr. Lee helped us see the great promises that God promised His children in the Old Testament and how we can completely trust that the LORD will be faithful in fulfilling His new covenant with us!" It was a refreshing weekend spent digging into the Word!
We also had some fun.. well Lincoln and I spent most of our time napping and eating in the cabin but Joshua had fun :)

With Lincoln's three teeth coming in, we thought we should teach him to brush his teeth! I think he just likes anything in his mouth! :)

Sunday was such a nice day that we took Lincoln for his first swim! I think he likes his warm bath better!

We were exhausted from our swim! These are my favorite parts of the day. I will drop anything to nap with my little man!

Lincoln hates his car seat so he has figured out how to squirm his way out and then just lay on the ground! I am sure he is thinking "Ahhh the freedom"
We are anxiously awaiting the start of some good ol' Rangers Baseball!

Lincoln and I were able to travel and spend a few days with family and friends while Joshua was in Minnesota at John Piper's church for a youth conference. Here are some of the things we did while we were in the beloved city if Amarillo!

Of course our first stop right off the airplane was to Taco Villa for a Combination Burrito!

Here are some of the other foods we could not miss out on!

I never knew how much I missed these places until I was gone! Just because we are in a bigger city doesn't mean their food is any better!

We met Papa, Nanna K, and Hanna for breakfast...I am not sure Lincoln was as crazy about the Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Roll as I was :)

Rosa's with Grammy and all her side of the family!
With all the eating I did it called for a workout with my Daddy and

walk at the park with Grandad, Hunnie, Chandler and Lincoln!

Great time with PaPaw
and Grandma!
So glad Aunt Kerri and Uncle Tim came to visit!
Yep that is right... Lincoln is almost the same size as his 11 month old cousin Carter!
Lincoln got his first haircut from Hunnie while Grannie fed him!
Followed by a bath because his dinner was all over him and Grannie!

We went to visit Grammy, Grandma, Grandpa, Matt, Whitney, and Piper!

We went and hung out with Hanna and Nanna K at their garage sale in Canyon!

I am pretty sure Lincoln's favorite part of the day was hanging out with Grandad in his big red chair at  6am! Thank goodness because I was able to go back to sleep :)
We were so grateful for the time spent with our loved ones! Our time was precious and was such a great reminder that our life is short. We were encouraged with our quick visit home to live our lives pursuing Jesus and making His name famous! We are so thankful for His life and the sacrifice He made so that we may one day stand in our Creator's presence!
